OUR HISTORY
Since its earliest days, Channel Seven Perth has strongly focused on maintaining a deep involvement with the people of Western Australia, supporting events and initiatives to help enrich lives and enhance experiences for the community.
As the first television station to be established in Western Australia, Channel Seven Perth delivered its first opening broadcast on 16 October, 1959. From here, the station has continued to evolve.
Since 1972, Channel Seven Perth has owned and managed WA's annual premier Christmas Pageant in the City Of Perth - a yearly fixture on the family calendar and in the hearts of Western Australians.
Channel Seven Perth is dedicated to playing an integral role in the local community – a sentiment reflected in the diversity of community projects it supports and underpinned by the Station’s premier position in the Perth market.
In 2011, Channel Seven and The West Australian joined together and now sit under the umbrella group of Seven West Media WA. Through this partnership, both Channel Seven and The West Australian endeavour to reach even further into the community to deliver more to Western Australians.
